What are your tastes in Japanese Anime?
I love romantic comedy's, drama's, and sci-fi. My tastes are pretty varied. As long it has a good story I'm there. Not really into too much of the 'cheesy' stuff. Fan Service has it's place, but I don't watch an anime just for FS sake.
Share with everyone the first anime that you've seen.

A little about me...

Anime Lover! An eclectic sorta dude! Choosing Flight over Fight. Passive aggressive in an assertive nonchalant manner. I serve 'the-One', live for 'the-One', but sometimes I have to do 'Number-Two'

Moe characters are also mostly young and female. Manic/depressive personalities also seem to be a trait of Moe Characters. They often seem to be very happy or sad. But even static personalities could be Moe I guess.

Hmmm... I checked out some of their prices. My motto, if it looks too good to be true, it usually isn't.

Don't give up all hope in theaters just yet guys. It's still a great way to get out of the house. As for anime and theaters, I'm afraid, with the exception of Studio Ghibli and Disney, the quality and tech used just isn't good enough yet, to match...

(follow-up on suquamish's comment bellow) Yeah, I think in the future I will probably just watch it at home. Since this was my first time watching anime on the big screen I did not know what to expect (I guess we all have to try it once). As for t...

You've kinda hit on why I don't like going out the "movie house," any longer. Price and A/V quality are easily beat at home [and I have a very modest system]. I certainly like the people more, and there's never that one person that has to ruin it ...

I will have to agree with Orion with this one. I watched it... it was kinda depressing. Premise was interesting but they really did not do anything with it. It felt like one long introduction.

Hmmm... that might be it. The description from TheDarkness fits. Kinda reminiscent of "Lawrence of Arabia" meets "Dune" meets "Quantum Leap".

Eureka Seven - Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers: (in the theater)

OK, I shelled-out $12.50 last night to watch "Eureka Seven - Good Night, Sleep Tight, Young Lovers", last night (Sept.24,2009) on the big screen. This was a one-night-only special event and seeing that this was my first time watching an anime in the movie theater, I thought it was worth the investment to investigate.

Anime Interruptus

OK, as a public service, as I come across them, I will try to list the "Anime Interruptus" (the anime's that have ended abruptly for some reason) and in what volume the manga pick's up the story. If any of you want to add to this list, please feel free.

Fan-service... over-rated!!!

You know, there is something I just don't get... what is the fascination with panties!?!
I mean come-on! It's underwear!!! In reality, not the most sanitary piece of clothing!

Don't get me wrong, I believe women are the most beautiful and special gender that God created, but I just do not get the preoccupation with the lower undergarments.

If you ask me the best part of the feminine gender is that part of the female anatomy between the thigh and the waist. That 'bend' is the most perfect spot… Continue

Bored, bored, bored...

You know, I've noticed something... my viewing has slowed down considerably and I'm trying to figure out why. At first I thought it was that I was too busy with things in the 'real' world, but I've come to realize that is not it at all. It looks like I've just gotten bored! When my anime mania started, I could not get enough. I have to admit there were times when I would stay up until 3 in the morning (on a week night) to see the next episode of the thing I was watching... buy those moments have… Continue

Origami's mini-review

OK, without getting too "knee-deep" in it, here is my (un)expert opinion on the stuff I've completed watching. Nothing deep, nothing profound, just a gut, emotional, irrational, "knee-jerk" reaction to the stuff I've watched in 100 words or less.

  • "Full Metal Panic!" - I liked it. Art is great! The (drama/comedy) relationship between Sousuke and Chidori is what sold it for me. Bought it.

Oh man I've been doing research on Clannad and the more that I do the more I realize just how epic the series is. Just by reading the wiki, it's crazy to even thinking about writing a meta review, considering how many projects have come before it, starting with the visual novels, then the many other manga/book and other video game adaptations. I've decided to take a new approach since the the Anime is actually the culmination of this amazing Journey that is called Clannad. If I started trying to verse myself in all the different aspects of Clannad, it would probably take me months to accomplish, not to mention most of the Material is not in English, so years might be more realistic. Clannad definitely has a case to put in the Master List Forum. I started doing the photoshoping for the review and it only brought back painful memories. It was like I was reliving the entire series over again. Righting this review is going to be painful indeed. What am I supposed to do if I keep bursting into tears while I'm trying to analyze this amazing work? I guess I'll just need plenty of tissues. As for the pod cast, I'm planning on trying to put that together at the end of this month or maybe start it in October.

Cool. I loved Marine Boy. And I must admit, it started my gum chewing. Luckily I grew out of that, but then I also made myself a Prince Planet pendant, so who knows, I suppose cosplay nowadays is based upon what we used to do as kids.
