Maybe I'm the first here, maybe the last^^, but Last Exile is getting a big screen release. I just hope that they don't fuck this up!

Hearing you talk about it.... I really want to rewatch the series. döh Here is the CE with some cards for ca 46$ on german amazon: http://www.amazon.de/gp/offer-listing/B000FHYJ4G/ref=dp_olp_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1246980563&sr=8-4 But having to read about t…

I have to admit that did only play it for so long, cause many of friends did play it too at the time. I's just not as fun with netfriends as with real friends. Leveling with them, raiding with them, to be able to talk with them without electricity n…

MMOs there you got me! XD My problem is: I actually pay for them from time to time... for new ones. There is just no MMO that binds for to it for more than a few months or merely weeks. "But" I like to test the big projects. Played SWG back in the d…

We have this version avaible for almost a year now: http://www.amazon.de/Samurai-Champloo-Collectors-Shinichiro-Watanabe/dp/B001D7SZI8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1245830344&sr=8-1 ... for the same price, if you meant the new price tag.^^

Starblazers was in my queue on NF to watch with the kidlette, and I just happened to receive disc 1 today -- so I fired up Starblazers this evening. The music score (sans the singing) still strikes me a non-corn and well composed; I guess there's n…

Hiroshi Miyagawa is undoubtedly beloved in Japan. Probably even on par with John Williams in the West, but Isao Sasaki just doesn't appeal to me. It would be and interesting survey indeed, if one were to pull Japanese aside from broad ranging demogr…

I'm missing something here. Or maybe better put, maybe we're talking about two different things? The music to Starblazers was composed by Hiroshi Miyagawa [IIRC], and while I doubt is nearly as recognizable the Star Trek/Wars theme songs to Western…

I'm missing something here. Talking about Isao Sasaki peforming the theme song to Starblazers doesn't seem completely relevant. The music was composed by Hiroshi Miyagawa [IIRC], and while I doubt is nearly as recognizable the Star Trek/Wars theme s…

I'm missing something here. Talking about Isao Sasaki peforming the theme song to Starblazers is like talking about Fess Parker singing "Daniel Boone." (The connection? (1) Alexander Courage wrote the theme to Daniel Boone. (2) "Daniel Boone" pretty…

Ok so John Williams and Alexander Courage are composers, while Isao Sasaki was a singer. I don't really see the comparison other than they all were involved in music. I definitely wouldn't call the composition of some of the most recognizable music…

Please excuse the necropost; my offline life keeps getting in the way. I dunno about the music being corny. I don't consider the Star Wars music corny or dated, and Star Trek music didn't really fall out [my] favor until Enterprise. I find this no…

It for a simple reason, that we, the western otakus can talk so easy-going. We love to watch and read Anime/Manga. Unlike the motorcicle niche you mentioned, we have it quiet harder, as motorcicles are nice and cool, even for others outside of the g…

Does offensive language offend you?
no if it's aimed at me, but I don't care even so, as I'm confronted with it on daily basis hehe; in anime when it's used wisely or for some funny scenes

What are your tastes in Japanese Anime?
Frankly anything good strarting from comedy, to scri-fi[space and mechas included], to action, to fantasy[magic], to adventure, to drama and lighthearted slice and life.

Not so much psychological if it get's to dramatic... I hate to know that it will end bad in some way from the start. :E
Share with everyone the first anime that you've seen.
Impossible to answer... maybe the russian Nu Pagadi, in germany it could be Alps no Shoujo Heidi, Alps Monogatari: Watashi no Annette, Ganbare! Kickers, Captain Tsubada, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs or just some other one, that was running in the early 90s.
