Do you have any old school games/systems that you'd like to talk about? Maybe you know of cool places on the net to play outdated games? Basically this is the place to reminisce about games you used to love.

Wow...how "old" is old school?? Remember games like Oregon Trail? I used to love that game. And number/word munchers?? Ahhhh...wow, I'm really dating myself here. There've been a lot of great games over the years, but I think Super Mario Brothers was about as life changing for me as it was for anybody. Think you still got what it takes to get to the princess? Try your luck here Make sure you click inside the box first or your controls won't work. I'm used to directing with the left hand and pushing buttons with the right so I found it challenging. It's backwards!!!!

1980-games.com --tons of old games emulated --site has it's limits though --sometimes you have to disable sound ([S] key) to run properly --it's a french site but not to hard to figure out -- [agrandir l'ecran] enlarges the game a bit --the controls are off to the side

Missed Athena but I used to play excite bike and duck hunt for hours, and of course super mario brothers consumed a large portion of my young life. Before Nintindo I used to love playing asteroids on the old atari. Hands down though, the game that consumed the most of my life was Nintindo 64's Golden Eye.

mine was n64's ocarina of time (Zelda)- the first rpg (albeit action rpg) that i enjoyed- i did nothing but play it in my free time

Ok you shouldn't have gone here I 'm so old school I used to have a Pinball Machine in My living room of course I had a drumset and A couple of amps also along with posters of girls/pinups all around the apt Ok so it was back in the 80's late 70's. Ok I even used to play asteroids in the Bar man I'm an old gamer Mrs Pac-Man, Pac-man I played Pong at a friends I didn't get the game actually until I was a young adult there just wasn't much or personal use at all well I think Atari was the first I saw for home use beside Pong . I brought a sega genisis after I moved to SoCal that was Ok but the first game consol that Blew me away was PS1 and the First game was Test Drive we all played at a friends house so I brought one

I remember Sega Genisis. The only games I remember is Bonk and Sonic the hedge hog. Quite actually my parents were quite cheap when I was a growing up so I never actually owned a consul. My friends always did though, and you can imagine, I spent a lot of time at there houses. Funny as I've grown into an adult I've followed the same trend, I have yet to buy myself a video game consul. I guess I've never felt the need since I've always had a computer. PC games which I was hooked too for a while include Doom, Wolfenstein, star craft, and Warcraft of course.

and all this was years after I was gone from home hell I think we didn't geta color TV till the early 70's at home. also there were no personal computers till I wwas into my 20's I was a senior In HS before Steve Jobs quit MIT. so they haden't been made yet although you are all going to think this is weird the Internet was all ready made if you doubt me look it up I went to IBM. With my HS class it was the newly started Computer Class also we couldn't take any pictures I rememeber that it was all magnetic Tape they had just phased out all the Punch card machines yea check this out we had to write Flow Charts. also I'm proably one of the first inventors of the Virus made a Flow Chart where a Stop wouldn't fit into the Logic flow Yea wow that was a long time ago so your not as old as you think Darkness

We used to have the big stand up video games Super Breakout and Missile Command in our basement! Those were so much fun. It's strange to me 'cause I play RPG's mostly, but I do love the simplicity of older video games.

now i feel older... even older than Bubba. (no offense, good buddy)

i remember playing Atari 2600 (Yar's Revenge) and Colecovision (Dungeons and Dragons) at my uncle's place when i was a kid. the first 'console' i owned was a Commodore 64 with a cartridge game for Donkey Kong Jr and Mario Brothers (yes, that's without the 'super' part). also on the C64 playing all text adventure games like "Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy", "Planetfall", and "Zork". ha ha.. my cell phone has more memory than that machine had.

I grew up on an Atari too, and my sister and I had over 50 games for the thing. We had Dungeons and Dragons too, Space Invaders, Pitfall (I love this one), Air Raid and so many more that I would have to fry my brain to remember. But we played the hell out of that thing, and it's most likely the reason I'm such a gamer now. I even bought the Namco classic compilation games for the Playstation so I can play these awesome games whenever I get nostalgic.

Actually I can take you back one further with the TI "computer" before the Commodore 64 which we had one of both and then the Commodore 128 wasn't it, they upgraded it once. I had an atari, matter of fact got one recently (OMG the thing is a boat). I mentioned on another thread that when we have a house and a game room the room will be lined with all our older consoles etc... will be like playing/watching movies in the den of gaming history.

I love my Wii because (again if I ever get around to it) I can download most of the old games for a reasonable fee. I am lucky I still have some of the consoles with how many times I have had to pack up my whole life we have lost most of the games here and there, one way or another. Also the DS gets many remakes and I do have Gamefly so I don't have to buy games to get a little nostalgia in.

The best story though was when I finally got an NES, my mom kept me up most of the night playing a game called Bubble Bobble and then had me play hooky the next day to have an all day marathon of playing. We played poor Bub and Bob to death, but it was fun.
